If you’ve looked at my Pinterest boards recently, you’ll see a very specific theme going on. Yep, I’m completely obsessed with finding the absolute perfect cowgirl outfits for this upcoming season.
Tbh it’s reaching a point where it almost takes over my life a little bit, but I’m not even mad about it! 😂😂
A few weeks ago, I went to this huge outdoor country music festival in my town. I didn’t really plan my look ahead of time, so I just threw on some basic black leggings and old sneakers. Big mistake! I was walking around sipping my strawberry lemonade and eating a massive funnel cake, and literally everyone else looked like they just stepped out of a fashion magazine. I saw so many amazing western looks that I instantly felt incredibly underdressed.
I promised myself right then and there that I’d step up my game. Since then, I’ve been saving a million different inspiration pictures and styling ideas.
Denim mini dress with cowboy boots
This is honestly such a classic look that you just can’t mess up. A simple denim dress is so incredibly easy to throw on when you’re running late but still want to look super put-together.
Pairing it with some tall boots instantly gives it that western flair without feeling like a costume. I’m totally wearing this exact combination to my next weekend brunch.
Fringe suede jacket and skinny jeans
Fringe is having a massive moment right now, and I’m entirely here for it! This jacket adds so much amazing texture and movement to a basic pair of jeans.
It’s perfect for those chilly evening walks when you need a light layer. Plus, it’s just really fun to spin around in.
White shirt with high-waisted denim shorts
Sometimes keeping it simple is the absolute best way to go. You literally can’t go wrong with a crisp white shirt tucked into some good vintage wash shorts.
Just add a cute belt and you’re out the door.
White lace top with flared jeans
I’m absolutely swooning over the romantic vibes of this lace top. Mixing delicate, feminine lace with some sturdy flared denim creates the most beautiful contrast ever.
It makes your legs look miles long, which is a total win in my book.
Western belt and leather skirt
Okay, this look is giving me major edgy energy and I love it. A chunky statement belt is the easiest way to transform a simple black skirt into a full western moment.
I’d definitely wear this for a fun dinner out with friends.
Cowboy hat with a flowy maxi dress
This is giving me all the breezy, carefree energy I need right now. A big hat paired with a long, sweeping dress is just pure magic.
Speaking of hats, I have the funniest story. I bought this gorgeous, wide-brimmed felt hat last month and wore it out for the first time on a super breezy Tuesday. I was walking across the grocery store parking lot and a huge gust of wind just ripped it right off my head!
I literally had to sprint across the pavement chasing this hat while carrying my iced coffee. A nice lady finally caught it for me, but I was so embarrassed. Definitely invest in a hat with a string if you live in a windy area!
Denim vest over a floral dress
Layering is totally the key to making dresses work for different seasons. Throwing a structured vest over a soft, feminine floral print is such a genius styling trick.
Rhinestone boots with black jeans
If you want to literally shine, these boots are everything you need. They elevate a simple dark denim look into something so incredibly glamorous. I’m obsessed with how they catch the light when you walk!
Brown suede skirt and tucked-in blouse
This color palette is just so warm and inviting. Suede always looks so rich and expensive, even if you just found it at a thrift store.
Tucking in a slightly oversized blouse balances out the proportions perfectly.
Corset top with bootcut jeans
Corsets are everywhere right now, and pairing them with a wider leg jean is such a smart move. It highlights your waist beautifully while keeping the bottom half super relaxed and comfortable.
Fringe crop top and denim shorts
This is the ultimate festival uniform right here. A fun crop top keeps you cool, while the fringe adds that necessary drama. I’d totally rock this to an outdoor concert or a weekend fair.
Leather jacket with cowgirl boots
Mixing tough leather with traditional western footwear is a match made in heaven. It gives off this really cool, slightly rebellious vibe that I’m totally drawn to lately. It’s a great way to transition your boots into the cooler months, too.
Graphic tee and distressed jeans
For those days when you just want to be comfortable but still look stylish, this is it.
A faded, vintage-looking graphic tee tucked into some ripped denim is my absolute go-to. It’s so casual but still feels intentional.
White prairie dress with brown boots
There’s something so sweet and nostalgic about a flowy prairie dress. Paired with some scuffed-up brown boots, it creates this beautiful, rustic aesthetic.
Plaid mini skirt with cowboy hat
Plaid isn’t just for the fall anymore! Taking a cute little mini skirt and adding a hat totally changes the whole vibe – it’s playful, youthful, and just genuinely fun to wear.
Denim-on-denim western look
The Canadian tuxedo is back and better than ever! The trick to pulling this off is making sure your washes are either exactly the same or noticeably different.
Off-shoulder top with flared pants
Showing a little shoulder is always a good idea in my book. It’s super flattering and pairs so beautifully with the dramatic volume of a flared pant.
Suede fringe dress with ankle boots
Why limit fringe to just jackets? A full fringe dress is a total showstopper. Keeping the footwear simple with short booties ensures the dress stays the main focus of the outfit.
Buckle belt with a satin blouse
I love mixing unexpected textures together. The smooth, shiny satin looks so incredible against the heavy, rustic metal of a big buckle. It’s a sophisticated take on the western trend.
Crochet top and ripped denim shorts
Crochet pieces just scream warm weather and sunshine to me. They add a lovely handmade, bohemian touch to a simple pair of cut-offs. It’s basically the perfect outfit for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
I actually tried to learn how to crochet last winter so I could make my own tops like this. Let me tell you, it’s way harder than it looks! I ended up making what was supposed to be a cute little tank top, but it somehow turned into a weird, lopsided triangle. I’ll definitely be leaving the crochet work to the professionals from now on and just buying them instead!
Black bodysuit with western belt
A sleek black bodysuit is a staple everyone needs in their closet. It creates the smoothest base layer ever. Adding a detailed belt breaks up the dark color and adds that perfect hint of country style.
Floral skirt with cowboy boots
This is such a pretty, feminine approach to the trend. The delicate floral pattern softens the chunky, rugged look of the footwear.
Bandana scarf with denim jeans
Accessories are truly everything! Tying a simple bandana around your neck or even weaving it through your belt loops is the cheapest and easiest way to upgrade your look.
Leather shorts and oversized plaid shirt
I’m kind of obsessed with leather shorts right now. They look so cool paired with a big, cozy flannel shirt left unbuttoned over a basic tank. It’s comfortable but still has a lot of attitude.
Boho kimono with cowgirl boots
Kimonos are the ultimate layering piece for the warmer months. They’re so light and airy, and they add such a beautiful drape to your silhouette. Worn over simple basics, it really lets the boots shine.
Ruffled blouse with straight-leg jeans
Ruffles add such a fun, playful volume to your upper half. Balancing that out with a clean, straight-leg jean keeps the outfit from looking too costume-like. It’s a great option for a casual office environment, too.
Sequin top with western boots
Who says you can’t wear sequins during the day? Mixing high-glamour sparkle with down-to-earth footwear is my new favorite styling trick. It’s so unexpected and incredibly stylish.
Denim jumpsuit with cowboy hat
Jumpsuits are the absolute best because you literally don’t have to think about matching a top and bottom.
You just step into it, zip it up, and you’re fully dressed. Adding a hat completes the whole ensemble effortlessly.
Cream cardigan with bootcut jeans
This is giving me the coziest, most comforting vibes. A chunky, oversized cardigan is essential for those transitional weather days.
Fringe handbag and mini dress
If you’re not ready to commit to a full fringed clothing item, a handbag is the perfect way to test the waters.
It adds that fun movement to a simple dress without being overwhelming. Plus, it holds all your essentials!
Vintage western shirt with jeans
There’s nothing quite like finding a real vintage gem. Those classic snap-button shirts with the embroidered details are just so special.
They carry so much history and look amazing with your favorite everyday jeans.
White tank top with denim skirt
This is the ultimate easy, breezy summer look. A plain white ribbed tank and a sturdy denim skirt will literally never go out of style.
Suede vest with wide-leg pants
I’m really loving the return of the vest! Worn on its own as a top, a suede vest looks so tailored and chic. Paired with wide-leg pants, it creates a really beautiful, elongated shape.
Animal print top with black jeans
Animal prints are basically a neutral at this point, right? A fun leopard or cow print top paired with dark denim is a surefire way to stand out. It’s bold, fun, and super confident.
Romper with cowboy boots
We’re wrapping up with the cutest, most effortless look ever. A simple romper is so incredibly comfortable, and throwing on some tall boots makes it instantly stylish. It’s my favorite trick for looking cute when I’m in a huge rush.
