20+ Vintage Outfits For Women You Need to Try This Year

Lately, my entire Pinterest feed has been completely flooded with the most gorgeous retro aesthetics, and it’s honestly taking over my brain. It got me thinking about how much I literally despise modern fast fashion sometimes.

You know exactly what I mean, right? You buy a cute shirt online, wear it once, and then it completely falls apart or loses its shape after just two washes. It’s so frustrating and honestly just a waste of money.

That realization totally sent me down a massive rabbit hole of looking for actual vintage outfits for women. There’s just something so magical about clothes that have lived a whole entire life before they even get to your closet. It’s like wearing a little piece of history, and the quality is usually so much better.

So, I spent basically my entire weekend compiling the ultimate mood board for us. Whether you want to dress like a 90s grunge queen, a 70s boho goddess, or a 50s movie star, there’s absolutely something here for everyone.

1950s polka dot dress

Oh my gosh, I’m completely obsessed with this vibe. It just screams classic femininity and fun, don’t you think? You can easily wear this to a cute summer picnic in the park or a Sunday brunch and look absolutely flawless with zero effort.

I’d probably pair it with some simple white sneakers to make it a bit more casual and comfortable for walking around all day, because we all know heels and cobblestone streets don’t mix well.

Vintage denim overalls

Okay, this is basically my uniform when I’m running errands or doing literally anything on a Saturday. They’re just so effortlessly cool and comfortable. Last summer I wore a pair exactly like this to a huge flea market with my friends.

I ended up carrying a massive, heavy vintage mirror across a dusty parking lot and getting dirt all over myself, but the overalls held up perfectly and washed out like a dream.

Plus, the pockets are actually big enough to hold your phone and your keys, which is a rare miracle in women’s clothing!

Retro leather jacket look

You simply can’t go wrong with a good, perfectly worn-in leather piece. It adds instant edge to literally any outfit you throw it over.

Even if you’re just wearing a basic white tee and some baggy jeans, throwing this on makes it look like a fully styled, intentional outfit.

Classic high-waisted jeans

These are an absolute staple in my closet right now, and I wear them constantly. The fit is so flattering on everyone and they actually hold you in perfectly without squeezing your waist too hard.

I’ve completely stopped buying low-rise denim because these are just way too comfortable to give up. You can tuck a chunky oversized sweater into them for fall and it looks absolutely amazing.

Elegant satin slip dress

This look is just pure perfection and feels so luxurious. It flows so beautifully and catches the light in the most stunning way when you move.

I really love layering a chunky, fuzzy cardigan over a delicate dress like this when the weather gets a bit chilly in the evening. It creates such a cool, unexpected mix of textures that I’m completely here for.

Old Hollywood glamour outfit

Wow, this one just leaves me speechless every single time I see it. It takes a certain level of confidence to pull this off, but if you do, you’re undoubtedly the main character of the room.

The tailoring is so precise and elegant, it really makes me want to start dressing up like this just to go to the grocery store and buy oat milk.

Vintage floral midi dress

I’m a total sucker for a good, ditsy floral print.

This length is so elegant and practical because you don’t have to worry about the wind blowing it up while you’re walking down the street.

I actually wore a dress very similar to this to my cousin’s outdoor wedding last spring.

Retro striped sweater style

Stripes will literally never go out of style, they’re just an eternal classic.

This sweater looks so incredibly cozy and perfect for those weird transition days between seasons when you don’t know if you’ll freeze or sweat.

Classic trench coat outfit

A structured trench coat is the ultimate chic layering piece for any wardrobe. It instantly makes you look like a mysterious detective or a busy fashion editor running between shows in the city.

You just throw it over your shoulders and suddenly your Sunday morning sweatpants look like a deliberate, high-fashion choice.

70s boho chic look

I’m totally here for the flowy, free-spirited energy of this outfit. It looks so comfortable, airy, and perfect for a warm sunny day.

The earthy tones are gorgeous and honestly look so good on literally every single skin tone.

Vintage plaid skirt combo

This is giving me major 90s teen movie vibes in the absolute best way possible.

It’s preppy but with a little bit of a rebellious edge. I really think pairing it with some chunky black loafers and tall, slouchy socks would make it the perfect fall outfit for grabbing coffee.

Retro band tee outfit

I basically live in oversized, faded band tees. They’re just the most comfortable thing you can put on your body when you want to feel relaxed.

I actually stole an original 80s concert tee from my dad’s closet years ago, and he still hasn’t noticed it’s missing!

Classic tweed blazer style

Tweed always looks so expensive and sophisticated, even if you just found it at a local thrift shop.

You can wear it over a nice blouse to a business meeting, or just pair it with some highly distressed jeans for a casual weekend look.

Vintage corset inspired look

The corset trend is everywhere right now, but the genuine vintage ones just hit different.

The structure and little details are usually so much better and sturdier than modern, mass-produced ones. It really highlights the waist and looks incredibly feminine and powerful all at once.

90s mom jeans aesthetic

Being comfortable is super important, and these jeans are the literal definition of comfortable.

The relaxed fit means you can actually eat a huge, delicious meal and not feel like you can’t breathe afterward. I usually roll the cuffs up a little bit at the bottom just to show off some cute ankle boots or chunky sneakers.

Retro monochrome outfit

Wearing one single color from head to toe is the absolute best styling hack ever.

It makes you look so tall, sleek, and put together with zero actual effort or overthinking. I’m so obsessed with how effortlessly chic this looks.

Vintage lace blouse style

The delicate, intricate details on this blouse are absolutely stunning. It feels so romantic, soft, and beautifully made.

I love the idea of wearing this out on a nice dinner date, or even just dressing it way down with some casual, frayed denim for a contrast.

Classic camel coat outfit

If you only buy one warm coat for winter, please make it a camel coat. It goes with absolutely everything in your closet and always looks incredibly classy and timeless.

I wear mine almost every single day when the temperature drops, and it instantly elevates my mood.

70s flared pants look

Flares are finally back and I couldn’t be happier about it! They elongate the legs so much and give you such a fun, dramatic silhouette.

When you walk, the fabric swishes around your ankles and it just feels so fun and groovy to wear.

Vintage cardigan layering

A good, chunky cardigan is basically like a socially acceptable wearable blanket. I always keep one tossed in the backseat of my car because you never know when the AC in a random store is going to be blasting on full power.
