Have you noticed how absolutely everywhere the whole racing aesthetic is right now? Because I am totally obsessed with it.
I spend way too many hours scrolling through my phone late at night, just looking at all these incredible race day outfits and dreaming about my next weekend event.
So I put together this huge list of my absolute favorite looks that do exactly that.
Racing jacket with wide-leg jeans
This is literally the ultimate cool girl uniform right now. A vintage-looking jacket paired with some baggy denim just screams effortless style and I am so here for it.
I would totally wear this with some chunky sneakers to tie the whole thing together.
Checkered top with leather pants
You really can’t go to the tracks without wearing checkers at least once! It is basically an unwritten rule. The leather pants add such a nice edge to the pattern and make it feel a bit more grown up.
Denim shorts with a cropped tee
This is my absolute go-to for those sweltering summer afternoons when you just can’t deal with heavy fabrics. It is so simple but so effective when the sun is just beating down on the bleachers.
You can add a cute baseball cap to protect your face and you are completely good to go for the entire day.
Moto jacket with a mini skirt
Okay I am actually swooning over this combination right now. The contrast between the tough moto jacket and the feminine little skirt is just everything I want in an outfit.
If you throw on some tall boots with this, you are guaranteed to get compliments all day long from everyone around you.
Red bodysuit with black jeans
Red is such a power color and it fits the racing theme so perfectly. I always lean towards a bodysuit because it stays perfectly tucked in no matter how much you are jumping up and down in the stands cheering.
Black jeans just ground the whole look and make the red pop even more.
Oversized jersey with biker shorts
Let’s be real for a second, comfort is key when you are sitting on those hard metal bleachers for hours at a time. This oversized fit is so ridiculously comfy but still gives off that sporty aesthetic we all love. It feels like you are wearing pajamas but you actually look super trendy.
Speaking of comfort, I have to confess something to you guys. Last year I went to a huge race event and wore the most impractical heels ever just because they matched my bag perfectly. Huge mistake on my part. We had to park what felt like three miles away in a massive grassy field because the main lots were full.
By the time we actually walked to the entrance gate, I was practically limping and my feet were screaming. I ended up buying some overpriced, flimsy foam flip flops at a merch tent just to survive the rest of the afternoon!
Cargo pants with a fitted tank
I am so glad cargo pants are back in style because the pockets are a total lifesaver.
You can keep your lip gloss, your cards, and your phone right there without having to carry a heavy bag around the stadium all day. Plus they have that perfect baggy look that is so in right now.
Leather skirt with a graphic tee
This look gives me major vintage groupie vibes and I am so here for it. You can just tuck your favorite faded band tee into a sleek skirt and you instantly look like you belong right down in the pit lane.
Track pants with a crop top
Track pants are literally made for this specific aesthetic. Paired with a simple little crop top, it balances out the loose, relaxed fit of the pants perfectly so you don’t look swallowed up by the fabric.
Checkered skirt with a white blouse
If you want to lean into the theme but keep things a little more preppy and polished, this is exactly the way to do it.
The crisp white top really lets the bold skirt be the star of the show. I would definitely wear this if I ever scored tickets to one of those fancy VIP suites!
Bomber jacket with denim jeans
Bomber jackets just have that classic Americana feel that works so incredibly well for this type of event.
Toss it on over your favorite comfortable jeans and a basic tee, and you are good to go.
Ribbed dress with sneakers
Sometimes you just don’t want to deal with waistbands or tight pants, and that is totally valid.
A stretchy ribbed dress hugs you in all the right places and looks so incredibly cute with some clean white sneakers.
Racing vest with cargo pants
Vests are having such a massive moment right now in fashion. A sporty vest with baggy cargo bottoms creates such a fun silhouette that really stands out from the crowd. It feels very modern and street-style inspired.
I actually tried wearing a cool vest look like this recently when I went to a local outdoor car show with my friends. We were having the best time, walking around and taking pictures next to all the gorgeous vintage cars. I had a giant iced matcha latte in my hand and I went to pose by leaning against a cool wooden fence.
Well, my hand completely slipped and I spilled my entire green drink right down the front of my light-colored outfit. I was so embarrassed! But honestly, we just laughed it off and kept walking around. Stuff happens, right? You just gotta roll with it and not let it ruin your day.
Black jumpsuit with bold accessories
A jumpsuit is basically a one-and-done miracle outfit for when you are rushing out the door.
I love an all-black base because you can pile on some really chunky silver jewelry or add a bright red bag to make it pop.
Mini dress with a leather jacket
This is such a classic pairing that never ever fails to look amazing. You get the sweetness of the little dress balanced out by the heavy, tough leather.
Plus, you have an extra layer ready for when the sun goes down and the track gets a little chilly in the evening.
Flared jeans with a sporty top
I am totally obsessed with the retro energy that flared jeans bring to an outfit. Paired with a fitted sporty top, it makes your legs look miles long while keeping you super comfortable.
Graphic tee with faux leather shorts
When it is way too warm for pants but you still want that edgy texture in your outfit, faux leather shorts are the absolute best choice.
They look so good with a washed-out vintage tee and some cool sunglasses.
Utility romper with chunky boots
I love a good utility look because it feels so practical but still looks so intentional.
Chunky combat boots are the perfect footwear for this because they can handle any dirt or mud you might run into at the grounds. Plus, you feel like you can conquer the world in them.
Red blazer with straight-leg jeans
If you want to feel a little more dressed up but not too formal, a bright blazer is the answer.
Red is basically the unofficial color of racing, so you will fit right in. Paired with some relaxed straight-leg jeans, it is the perfect smart-casual balance.
Checkered pants with a simple tank
Let the pants do all the talking here, for real. When you have a loud pattern on the bottom, a simple white or black tank top is all you need to complete the outfit.
Denim-on-denim racing look
The Canadian tuxedo is back and it is honestly better than ever. I love wearing an oversized denim jacket over matching jeans for a look that is rugged but totally chic.
You can throw some patches on the jacket to really customize it and make it your own.
Cropped hoodie with cargo skirt
A long cargo skirt is such a fun alternative to regular pants right now. Pairing it with a cropped hoodie keeps the proportions looking right and gives you a super cozy layer for when the wind picks up.
Satin bomber with black trousers
Satin adds such a gorgeous sheen that catches the sunlight beautifully while you are walking around.
Paired with sleek black trousers, it is a look that easily transitions from the daytime races to a fun dinner out with your friends afterwards.
