5 Habits I’ve Been Doing Lately to Be Hotter and Smarter

These are five habits I’ve genuinely been doing lately to become hotter, richer and smarter. I don’t mean that in a cringe, hustle obsessed way, and I don’t mean in a wake up at 4am and grind until you collapse way. I mean in a calm, intentional, 25 year old who is finally taking herself seriously kind of way.

I feel like something shifts at 25. You start realising that no one is coming to build your life for you. And instead of panicking, you think, okay, what if I just slowly upgrade myself? What if I become the woman I keep saying I want to be?

These five things are small, but they have changed the way I think, move and show up.

1. Writing 1,000 Words a Day

Training My Brain Instead of Just Consuming

This habit was inspired by Dan Koe, who talks about writing 1,000 words a day and then repurposing that writing into YouTube scripts, short-form content, threads, notes, and everything else.

At first, I thought it sounded intense and very productivity-YouTube, very build-your-personal-brand energy. But then I actually tried it.

And I realized it is not even about content. It is about clarity.

You do not have to be a writer, and you do not have to want to publish anything, but sitting down and forcing yourself to articulate your thoughts every single day does something to your brain. It sharpens it, it makes you more precise, and it trains you to think in structured ways instead of spiraling in chaotic loops.

Some days I write about business ideas, some days I journal, some days I rant, and some days I map out my goals. It does not have to be perfect. It just has to be 1,000 words.

After a few weeks, you realize that you are no longer just consuming information. You are producing it. You are creating instead of scrolling.

That feels rich in a mental way.

And if you do create content, it is amazing because you suddenly have a constant reservoir of ideas. You are never staring at a blank screen wondering what to post because you already have depth to pull from.

Writing daily has made me feel smarter in a very grounded way, not because I suddenly know everything, but because I can actually express what I think.

2. Reading One Fiction and One Non Fiction Book at the Same Time

Feeding Both Sides of My Brain

Right now I am reading Penance, which my ex colleague gave me, and Supremacy, which is about AI. One is a murder story and the other is about artificial intelligence and power structures, so they are completely different worlds.

The thing is that I naturally prefer non fiction. I love learning, I love feeling productive, and I love that feeling of absorbing knowledge and upgrading my brain.

But reading non fiction before bed is not relaxing for me. I will lie there thinking about systems, leverage, productivity and life optimisation, and suddenly I am mentally building a startup at midnight.

So I made a rule for myself. I read fiction before bed and non fiction during the day.

Why Two Books at Once Actually Works

Reading two books at the same time means I do not abandon one just because my mood shifts.

Non fiction feeds the smarter version of me, the one who wants to understand money, tech, psychology and power. Fiction feeds the softer side of me, like empathy, creativity and emotional intelligence.

Being smart is not just about information. It is also about understanding people, and stories teach you that in a way no business book ever could.

It feels balanced, and balance is underrated, especially when you are ambitious.

3. Hitting 10,000 Steps a Day

Romanticising the Lunch Break Walk

I know this one sounds basic because everyone talks about 10,000 steps, and it is not revolutionary.

But actually doing it consistently when you work a nine to five is different.

You might be wondering how you even hit that with a full time job. For me, the key has been one simple thing, which is walking on my lunch break.

It is so tempting to just make a sandwich and sit at your desk, or scroll, or keep working. There is also this weird pressure in office culture where using your full one hour paid lunch break almost feels rebellious, like you are being judged for not staying glued to your screen.

But you literally have a paid break, so you should use it.

Habit Stacking Without Obsession

Going for a walk at lunch is the easiest way to stack habits without overcomplicating your life. You move your body, you get fresh air, you clear your head, you often get sunlight, and you come back less stressed.

Not everything has to be optimised for productivity, and you can walk just to walk.

But I will say that it does feel good to know you are taking care of your health while also resetting your brain. It makes the afternoon feel lighter.

Physically, I feel leaner. Mentally, I feel calmer. And there is something about a woman who takes a confident midday walk instead of eating at her desk that feels very hot to me.

4. Eating a High Protein Breakfast Every Day

Beauty Starts with Nutrients

I went through a phase where I was barely eating in the morning and just having coffee, maybe something small, and then wondering why I felt shaky, bloated or exhausted by 11am.

So I committed to high protein breakfasts.

Recently I have been having sardines on toast. I know it sounds chaotic, but sardines are such an underrated beauty hack. They are packed with nutrients, omega 3s, protein and all of it.

I genuinely think my skin looks better when I eat properly. My energy feels more stable and I do not crash as hard.

High protein breakfasts keep you full for longer, which means fewer random snack decisions later. They stabilise your mood, support muscle and just make sense.

The “Hot” Is Actually Hormonal Health

When I say hotter, I do not just mean aesthetically. I mean hormonally balanced, energised and glowing because you are actually nourished.

There is something powerful about feeding your body like you care about it. It shifts your mindset from restriction to support.

At 25, I am no longer interested in starving myself to be small. I would rather be strong, clear headed and radiant.

5. Unsubscribing From Marketing Newsletters

Curating My Digital Environment

This one was subtle but honestly life changing.

I unsubscribed from almost all marketing newsletters, including all the constant sales emails, all the limited time only noise and all the subtle pressure to buy something.

Instead, I replaced them with newsletters from creators I genuinely respect.

For example, Dev writes Financial Hot Girl and Maggie Sellers writes Hot Rich Smart. Having their thoughts delivered directly to my inbox feels intentional.

Instead of being bombarded with ads, I receive concise, value driven ideas from women who are building interesting lives.

Depth Over Noise

If you think about how overstimulated we are on social media, it makes sense. There is endless scrolling, endless opinions and endless trends.

Having a few well written, thoughtful newsletters feels different. It feels curated, focused and calm.

You open your inbox and instead of chaos, you see something that actually adds value.

That matters more than we think.

Just a little note - some of the links on here may be affiliate links, which means I might earn a small commission if you decide to shop through them (at no extra cost to you!). I only post content which I'm truly enthusiastic about and would suggest to others.

And as you know, I seriously love seeing your takes on the looks and ideas on here - that means the world to me! If you recreate something, please share it here in the comments or feel free to send me a pic. I'm always excited to meet y'all! ✨🤍
